Paris. My Viking butt finds itself on a harsh railway station seat. Soon about to jump on a train to Tours to do a little bit of playing there tomorrow with buddy Christophe Godin. Last night the Eklundh family arrived from an utter kick ass vacation in Greece, far away from all the teargas jazz in Athens. We spent time sailing the Ionian Sea, swimming in caves and driving around. A tiptop time indeed and a potent battery charger for an intense upcoming second half of 2011. A somewhat hysterical woman is screaming as I get off the transfer bus. “Bangkok? Passengers for Dubai? Dubaaaaiii? Baaangkok?” I ask what the screaming is about. Yes, I am going to Dubai. Show me your boarding pass, she yells. I don’t have one. Need to find the transfer desk. She is almost on the verge of a nervous breakdown and I still haven’t got a clue of why the hell she is shouting like a maniac. Well, I ignore her and mind my own business. Usually works best.

On the road again. We are about an hour away from Paris after a funny gig at the Hessenhalle in Giessen, Germany yesterday. We were a bit worried the local promoter had booked a slightly too massive venue since we always had a somewhat tricky time getting ourselves heard in Germany compared to the surrounding countries. We were wrong. It turned out to be a groovy evening. Myself, Björn and Chris are most grateful for everyone coming out to see the show! Spread the word so we can come back soon again. Lots of gratitude to Kig, the organisation taking care of business. (Man, those home-made feta cheese burgers backstage made a vegetarian blissful and then some). Read the rest of this entry »

The rain is pouring down outside as I sit in the car with a sleeping Gabriel next to me. Mrs. Eklundh is at the veterinarian getting rid of a few stitches on Maya the dog after recent surgery. Just got back from a fabulous, fabulous Finnish tour that floored us all. We couldn’t believe the massive response at each and every gig. Helsinki was even sold-out on a Tuesday night (Kuopio might have been so as well). Stunning Freak Neighbors: you kick so much ass it hurts! We can’t wait to come back! Festivals and more concerts are being planned for 2010 by our great Finnish promoter Timo and Nem Booking. Thanks a bunch! Thanks a bunch! (If you got cool photos from the gigs, send them in and we will post them here).
So, finally Land of the Freaks is out there… I feel so relieved everything is going so good. (Despite Pirate-Bay times the album is doing very, very well!) The people at iTunes decided to take a vacation the week of the release, hence the delay. It is available now.
