Land of the Freaks VIIII
Hey again! A short report from the Land of the Freaks photo shoot the other day. Have such an inspired freak vibe in my gut I felt I needed to write a few words and post a few photos before going into Freak Guitar Camp frenzy (freak, freak, freak).
We hooked up at amazing photographer Lennart Sjöberg’s studio for an afternoon of intense, sinister posing. Started out with coffee, mineral water and a discussion with Lennart and computer animator wizard Fredrik Person who is doing the artwork together with Sjöberg. The concept of Land of the Freaks is turning out truly exquisite not to say cool and damn swell-looking if I may say so my damn self! We are all thrilled and floored about it! The evil Lithuanian creature is basically a pair of jeans folded, sprayed and decorated with all kinds of bizarre paraphernalia. It has a slippery look and you can really feel it is made by twisted human hands…

The beauty of Chris in special tattoo underpants
Chris has a new outfit that makes him look even more outrageous than usual. Almost insect-like. He also revealed his self-made Cap Man tattoo on his left leg. Yes, indeed, the man has bought himself a whole lot of tattoo equipment and will start a studio as soon as he gathered enough experience and know-how. Chris has always been very skillful with a pen and a piece of paper. Now he’s got the bug and moved on to actual skin. As far from a tattoo as I am (and Björn, I believe) I can’t help but to give credit to the man for being dead serious, dedicated in his practicing, investing, researching and then some. After all, altering your body permanently is serious business.
Apart from being our favorite bass player, Chris is also a Dad. Pretty much a veteran one compared to myself and Björn. Since I have a habit of posting a lot of pics of Gabriel and also Fryklund’s sweet Sindre here I thought it would be appropriate to include Chris’ not really new-born son Tommie as well. So…

OK, this is it for now. Along the ongoing work on Land of the Freaks, it is soon, as mentioned above, Freak Guitar Camp time with stunning guests Andreas Öberg, Guthrie Govan, Mr. Fastfinger and more. Chris will also bring out his side-project Eaglestrike in the wilderness (feat. my guitar tech Fredrik and my demon cook Fiffi’s husband Jörgen on drums) plus the annual Freak Kitchen jams.

In between this I am working on a track for Magna Carta project called Guitarnation, produced by my friend Bumblefoot. More about this later on.
